Winter has Arrived
Winter is a beautiful time in Palm Springs. The days are warm and sunny with highs usually in the 70s
- 80s. It makes for perfect weather to go for a long hike in one of the many beautiful parks and preserves in the area
or for a bike ride on one of the many bike paths that meander through the valley. Then again, for the less ambitious, it is
still very comfortable for floating around the pool. The nights are cool and crisp - bring a light jacket! It's great
for a moonlit stroll with your honey or your man du jour.
Summer Season
Winter season is now upon us. You can expect that most
resorts (including ours) will be full most week-ends with lots of happy men looking to have a great vacation. During the winter,
we are not usually full during the week, however, so it is perfect for when you want a quiet and relaxing afternoon around the pool.
A word to the wise - we are already filling up for many week-ends and most of the upcoming holidays so it is a good idea to make your
reservations as soon as possible.
Restaurant Guide
Gary's restaurant guide is up. Click here to take a look. It represents many years
of diligent research plus feedback from our guests as well. This is not an exhaustive list of all the restaurants in the Palm Springs
area - it is just the ones that I like to eat at. I tend to be a bit of a food snob - if I'm spending money to eat out, I expect to
thoroughly enjoy it. Of course, your experience may differ!
Attention Laptop Users!
We have installed a wireless router so people with
wireless cards in their laptops can now hook into our DSL system. It is a 802.11g band router so it is very fast. Many of our guests
have tried it and it works great (though the reception for Room 4 at the back of the property is weak). If you don't have a wireless
card, we have one that you can rent for $10 per night or you can still plug your computer into our phone lines for dial up access.

There are two particularly notable parks in the area:Joshua Tree National Park is one of the most interesting national parks in the entire system. The high desert portion of the park boasts rock formations and flora that are unlike any others you have seen. Joshua Tree also conducts 1-2 day classes on diverse topics including Desert Survival, botany, photography, zoology, tracking & archaeology of the park. The Indian Canyons are home to some of the original canyons where the Agua Caliente Tribe has lived for centuries. Located just a few minutes from downtown Palm Springs, there are several hiking trails as well as a trading post.
